The Korea National Recreation Forest will fully operate its forest education and cultural programs across 42 national recreation forests starting from March 2025.
The Korea Forest Service’s National Recreation Forest Management Office announced that various experience programs in which forest welfare experts such as forest interpreters, early childhood forest instructors, and forest healing instructors will participate, will be held until the end of the year. Customized programs have been organized to allow participation from all age groups, from young children to adults.
Famous mountain, Yonghyun, Sangdangsanseong, Bangjangsan, and Nagan Folk Recreation Forests, where early childhood forest instructors are stationed, will operate regular forest education in connection with childcare facilities. At Saneum, Daegwallyeong, Namhae Hinoki, and Cheongtaesan Recreation Forests, where forest healing instructors are employed, specialized healing programs tailored for pregnant women and different professional groups will be provided.
Forest Complex Experience Centers are prepared in locations including Famous Mountain, Yonghwassan, Chilbongsan, and Daegwallyeong, where indoor leisure sports and virtual reality (VR) experiences are available. Facilities for people with disabilities are also being expanded. In Famous Mountain and Muuido Natural Recreation Forests, sign language and braille forest interpretation systems have been established, and they are expected to be expanded to other recreation forests in the future.

The director of the National Recreation Forest Management Office, Kim Myeong-jong, stated, “We will continue to develop various programs so that people can heal their bodies and minds in nature, and we will do our best to provide a safe and pleasant space.”
