The Military Manpower Administration has officially commenced the 2025 military mobilization training from March 4 in preparation for a national emergency. Over 450,000 reservists nationwide will be called to base or mobilization training sites for a three-day, two-night session to assess their ability to perform wartime tasks.

The military mobilization training applies to those within four years after discharge, while officers and warrant officers are eligible for up to six years. Training participants are notified of the training period, location, and method of entry at least seven days before the entry date. Army induction is at noon, while navy and air force induction is at 1 PM, with dismissal at 5 PM for all.

To alleviate the inconvenience for reservists living far away, the Military Manpower Administration will operate transport vehicles from assembly points to training sites for approximately 100,000 individuals. Individual enrollees are supported in checking transportation options to training sites via the agency’s website.

On the first day of training, Kim Jong-chul, the commissioner of the Military Manpower Administration, visited the 60th Division mobilization training site to encourage the participating reservists. Commissioner Kim expressed, “I deeply appreciate the reservists who temporarily put aside their livelihoods to engage in training for national security,” and added, “We will continue to improve training environments and pursue policies that respect the value of military service to ensure peace of mind during training.”

This year’s training aims to enhance wartime preparedness and simultaneously establish support measures to elevate reservist pride. The Military Manpower Administration plans to improve training environments and expand transportation support, as well as consider measures to strengthen reservist welfare.
