Geumcheon-gu announced that it is continuously recruiting users for ‘Seoul-type Household Services’ to reduce the burden of household labor for pregnant women, dual-income families, and multi-child households. This program targets households with income levels below 180% of the median income residing in Geumcheon-gu, and can support up to 330 households.
The support targets are divided into pregnant households, dual-income households, and multi-child households. Pregnant households include those from 3 months of pregnancy to within one year after childbirth as of the application date. Dual-income households can receive support if both parents work and are raising children aged 12 or younger. Multi-child households qualify if they have two or more children under 18 years old, with at least one child being 12 years old or younger.
Without any personal contribution, household helpers dispatched by service providers visit homes to provide basic household services such as cleaning, laundry, and dishwashing. However, some services such as organizing storage, cooking, childcare, and pet care are not included.
Starting this year, the previous limit of 10 visits per household has been removed, and services can be freely selected within a total limit of 700,000 won. Additionally, the service has been expanded to allow use of all service providers throughout Seoul regardless of district.
Beneficiary households will receive vouchers in the form of credit (debit) cards and can directly choose from 32 household service providers selected by Seoul City.
Service applications can be made online after registering on the ‘Seoul Mom Care’ website, and supporting documents such as resident registration certificate and health insurance premium payment confirmation must be attached when applying.
The program period runs until November 30, 2025, and applications may close early if the budget is exhausted. Selection results will be notified individually via text message after review.
Geumcheon-gu Mayor Yoo Sung-hoon said, “I hope that pregnant women, dual-income families, and multi-child households in our district will find work-life balance through Seoul-type household services,” adding, “We will continue to promote various projects and policies to create a family-friendly Geumcheon.”
