Jongno District announced on the 3rd that it will hold the ‘2025 Jongno Youth eSports Tournament’ at the Marronnier Park Multipurpose Hall (104 Daehak-ro) starting at 1 PM on December 20.
This tournament is designed to provide youths with the opportunity to experience eSports, enhancing their understanding of the gaming industry and offering them a chance to explore future career paths. It is also expected to establish itself as a local cultural event that promotes intergenerational communication through eSports.
The tournament is open to students attending middle and high schools in Seoul. Participants can form teams of five and register through the Jongno District Office website or by scanning a QR code by December 10. The competition will feature the globally popular first-person shooting game ‘Valorant.’
The preliminary rounds will take place online on December 13. It will be conducted in a 5v5 team tournament format, with the top four teams advancing to the finals, totaling 20 participants. The final matches will be held on-site on the day of the tournament, allowing spectators to enjoy the excitement firsthand.
The final stage will feature not only youth players but also popular professional gamers who have been invited for special programs. Hyunseok Lim, the general manager of the DRX pro gaming team, will deliver a special lecture on the topic ‘The World of the eSports Industry and Professionals.’ This will be followed by an event match and fan signing session, with professional players such as ‘Zest’ Kiseok Kim and ‘SereNa’ Shia Kim participating.
Interactive booths will be set up at the venue. Visitors can experience games like PlayStation 5 (PS5), Tekken 8, FC25, and the shooting mode of Valorant. Additionally, there will be a roulette event and a lucky draw, creating a festive atmosphere for the general public to enjoy.
All youth participants in the finals will receive certificates and souvenirs prepared by sponsorship partner Woori Bank.
